The Wild Coast is approximately 250km’s of wild and rugged coastline, stretching between Port Edward in the North and East London in the South. With it’s breathtaking scenery, amazing beaches and lagoons and rugged, unspoilt coastline, the Wild Coast has become a favoured destination of hikers, fisherman, nature lovers and 4x4 enthusiasts.
Largely due to a lack of infrastructure and road maintenance, large areas of the coastline are inaccessible by vehicles that do not sport a higher clearance or 4x4 capabilities. This in part is what gives the Wild Coast its appeal. Even during holiday periods it is possible to find empty beaches and a coastline unspoilt by the trappings of commercialism.
Accommodation along this beautiful coastline varies considerably, from rustic fisherman cottages to five-star luxury accommodation. There is something for everybody. Part of the problem for visitors to the Wild Coast is finding that suitable accommodation. Many venues are privately owned cottages and are not always widely advertised.
