Coffee Shack Backpackers offers a variety of accommodation ranging from single beds and camp sites to an 8 sleeper self catering house. They are certified with Fair trade Tourism promoting environmental responsibility and community upliftment through their own NGO initiatives. With a host of unique entertainment options, and a long list of freebies, you may just find yourself staying a little longer than intended.
DOUBLE ENSUITE ROOMS: Traditional thatched rondavel with double bed, bunk and private bathroom. Perfect for a couple or 3 – 4 people sharing. This room is across the beach from the main backpackers, has a braai outside and is close to the self-catering kitchen and safe parking.
Bedding is provided, bring your own towels.
STANDARD DOUBLE ROOMS: Traditional thatched rondavel with double bed. These rooms are across the beach from the main backpackers and close to the self-catering kitchen and safe parking. A clean, well equipped communal bathroom is located next to these rooms. We can arrange an additional mattress on the floor if you want a twin or for an extra person in the room.
THE KING’S HOUSE: has the best view! It has two small bedrooms with double beds plus an open loft, above each bedroom with a double bed and two single beds. There is a lounge, bathroom and small kitchen with gas stove and oven, fridge/freezer, other appliances as well as cutlery and crockery. Outdoor furniture is available at the braai area. Great for a family or group of friends, the house can sleep up to 8 people.
DORMS: Our dorm rooms have either 6 or 8 beds. Choose from traditional thatched rondavels on the “beach side” or stay closer to the action on the main side. We have one 6 bed girls only dorm on the main side in a traditional thatched rondavel. USe of the communal bathrooms is available.
CAMPSITE: Small but stunning- suited to 2-3 man size tents. You will be camping in the front garden, overlooking the beach, which does not have vehicle access to the tent sites. We do have safe parking. You can use the self-catering kitchen, communal braai area and really good shared bathroom facilities. We do not have any powered sites but we do have limited places to camp in your car (campervan, roof top tents etc.), please enquire for details.
FOR FUN: The festive Babalaza Bar has a free pool table and Tuesday night theme parties. Our restaurant has good value and tasty meals available all day. We have well equipped self-catering kitchens, braai facilities and fire wood. We have safe parking for your vehicles and safe-keeping for your valuables. All bed linen is provided and we have a laundry service. There are hammocks for you to relax in, daytrips to keep you busy and free Wi-Fi to keep you connected.
